HMRTA – June 15, 2015

Minutes from May meeting
– P. Hartzell requested an addition to the minutes
o He is applying for a Fall 2015 Parks and People grant to develop and build a stormwater management system for Lady Baltimore Park and the 1900 block of Mt. Royal
Social:
Rayna has funds from the MECU grant she received to host a neighborhood social in the summer
– We will have a cook-out
– Event was decided to be scheduled for Sunday July 26th from 4-7p
– Main event will be held in the Secret Garden/Lennox-MRT-Reservoir-Park park
– Lady Baltimore Park also an option for additional space
– Grant will provide meats, buns, and condiments
o Board needs to decide on the quantity to purchase
o H&S has discounts on bread products
– Residents will be asked to bring a side dish to share
– Need volunteers for working shifts on the grill
o George Hudson volunteered
– Neighbors are encouraged to bring lawn games, water games, etc.

Update on other Reservoir Hill groups/projects
– Friends of Reservoir Hill has asked that individual block clubs hold meetings every other month, with the alternating month be a FORH meeting
o Opportunity to focus on localized efforts in block meetings
o Use FORH meeting as forum for RH wide issues such as future development, lighting, safety, etc.
– FORH has also formed a group called the Neighborhood Coalition for MPN Redevelopment (NCMPNR)
o Group is in the developing stages
o Interested groups include RH residents and surrounding neighbors such as Bolton Hill, Marble Hill, Seton Hill

o Katherine is serving as a representative of FORH; not currently representing as a board member of HMRTA
– Greg attended the BP tunnel meeting
o No updates on the project as of last meeting
– State Center
o No new updates on SC redevelopment
o It was suggested that the head of the State Center Neighborhood Alliance come and speak to HMRTA to give an update on the project
– No updates on Tune Up City development
– Baltimore City Police Central Destruct Community Relations Council Meeting in June 23rd
o Jason will be attending; hopefully some other neighbors will attend as well
– Rayna and Katie participated in the Beth Am/RHIC/Healthy Neighborhood meeting on MPN redevelopment
o Met with other residents and associations to discuss what we would like to see at the site
o This group will not be voting on any proposed plans
Elections
– An email/flyer will be sent out in august for people to submit their nominations for the board
– Elections will be held in September

Next meeting is Monday July 20th
